Great plant choices for 2012

June 1, 2012

Every new year brings a whole new array of choices for gardening enthusiasts. There are just so many directions you can go with your garden. You can try out the newest plants or stick to the long list of tried and proven classic garden regulars. Trying to pick out the plants to make your 2012 garden roster can be quite overwhelming since there is such a wide range of perennials and annuals to choose from.

The key to making sure your garden roster looks great but is also well-organized is to break down your list of plants into two groupings. One list is for containers and gardens you want to fill. The other list includes the plants you can choose from. Organizing your planting agenda this way systematizes your gardening and helps you choose based on priority. Some great choices are cage vegetables, Lanai Verbena Twister Pink, Pink Lemonade Petunias, Jack Frost, and Haskap berries. Work with your garden and container list first, arrange them by the color you want and length of life of the plants. After you've done this go through your plant roster and sort them accordingly.
